I know it’s Tuesday… So I’m late… Story of my life it seems…
Does it feel, to anyone else, that the weekends just fly by?
And then mold into Monday??
Seriously, I feel like I wake up on Mondays wondering where the heck the days have gone.
My Grandmother-In-Law used to tell Zach and me all the time that the time will go faster and faster every year you live. So keep a close watch on your babies, before you know it they will be grown and you will be old like me. Man I miss her.
She wasn’t wrong, every year it seems the time flies by faster and faster. I fully noticed that this weekend.
Friday night was a great night. Zach and I took our neighbors out to dinner as a ‘Thank You!’ for helping watch our dogs when we were gone for our roadtrip. Sure is nice to get out of the house with other adults and talk about something that isn’t Disney Jr related.
Saturday was BUSY!
Zoie collected her eggs in the morning. She is really loving the chickens…. and they’re slowly warming up to her.
We worked on the garden for a lot of the day. Moving dirt and filling tires.
Zach went to Les Schwab and picked up 80 more tires for me. I think that’s enough for now. The garden is full, but I might want to go one higher… I haven’t decided yet.
You can read about my gardening plans for this year, HERE.
We finally got all the tires moved in on Saturday evening, thanks to the help of my sister.
It’s a lot of tires!
I’m not even close to having them all full. But I got two of the edges done.
It’s hard work!
Seriously … who needs crossfit?!? I have a HEAVY wheelbarrow that I’ve been pushing UP HILL and FULL of a dirt/horse manure/sand mixture.
We even got a little planting done!
Strawberries! Tomatos! and Herbs! OH MY!
On Sunday, Zoie and I woke up early and headed out the door for Bloomsday!
Bloomsday is a 12K race held here in Spokane.
I haven’t ran this race in 15+ years.
Oh… and I didn’t run this time either.
With a stroller we weren’t technically allowed to run. We had to walk.
But we walked it in 2:38.
So technically … we survived the race!
But we have big goals for next year! Maybe under 2 hours?? I won’t hold my breath!
We followed up the race with a huge plate of BBQ! And a bag of KettleKorn!
It was AWESOME!! So worth it!!
Overall it was a productive weekend!
I won’t feel good about it though until I get my garden done. Back outside I go.

May 5, 2015 at 9:26 pmLady, you got a lot done. No wonder it flies by! I’m so fortunate that the woman who owned my home before me was retired, and put a lot of effort into building up the garden. The time you’re investing now will pay off so many times over in the future. Not to mention the memories with family. Enjoy.
