Have you heard the new saying??
Collect Moments Not Things
It’s one of my favorites and something our family works very hard for.
What good are the things you can buy when you can experience something that gives your heart so much more fulfillment?
This week we are taking full advantage and living up to this!
We left our house a week ago for a road trip.
Headed out of Washington State through Montana and down to our first stop, Utah.
It took us about 17 hours (give or take a few) to get there.
Making several stops along the way to see friends, look at scenery, and refill our water bottles.
We stopping to sleep at truck stops.
And our second night after stopping well after eleven o’clock and in the dark,
we woke to find a camel as our neighbor.
After many hours of driving, lots of Starbucks, and about half of Outlander on cd we made it to Utah and our first destination of St George.
We LOVE Utah!!
My bestie, Kristine, lives in St George.
This is the second time we’ve been able to visit Kristine and her family and just like the last time,
this visit was wonderful.
When we arrived on Saturday morning, and our first order of business was to get hugs so we went to the park for a quick play date before Kristine and her girls had a date planned with family.
We ate food.
The girls played
We hugged and laughed and hugged some more.
It’s been a year since our last visit. We had lots of missed hugging to make up for.
And I got to meet Ernie Zeno for the first time.

Isn’t he the sweetest??
And he has a Z name… eeep!
We’re partial to Z names in our Z house 🙂
After our park play, my next order of business was a stop at Swig.
I can’t go to St George without a visit to Swig.
They have Dirty drinks, my favorite is a Dirty Dr Pepper, I’ll share a quick tutorial of my version this week.
Seriously… Swig Stop and Sunshine!
I was one happy mama!
On Sunday we celebrated Easter with Kristine and her family.
It was so kind of her family to take us in for the day and let us celebrate with them.
The kids all had so much fun playing, and it was great to finally meet some of Kristine’s family that I’ve been reading about for years.

Seriously though, the cutest kids! There were SO MANY eggs and the kids had a blast looking for them!
The kids all got quite the loot from their Easter Egg Hunt.
During our time in St George, we also got in lots of hiking.
My favorite Park is Snow Canyon. It’s absolutely beautiful there. The trails go for days and there are lava tubes to climb in and mountains to hike up.
Pool time.
It wasn’t quite warm enough with the wind so we hit the local aquatic center for some swim time.
Our last evening we enjoyed a great night of visiting and laughing and even smores.

Best Friends for Life!
We ended our Utah stop with a breakfast of Swig treats.
Cause Kristine and I, we speak the same love language.
Ice cream and cookies for breakfast is our thing. Don’t knock it til you try it.
And one last sunshine filled, group selfie!
The only things that could have made our visit better would have been a lot more time to spend there.
Can’t wait to go back again!! I miss you already Utah!
But we miss you more Foley Fam!
We still have more road trip to come.

April 14, 2015 at 12:30 amHow fun! My parents would take my sister and I on a road trip every summer when we were little–not only was it great bonding time, but it inspired me to travel even more as an adult! 🙂

April 14, 2015 at 3:33 amI love capturing all the moments you can with photos. I have to be careful to enjoy the moment sometimes instead of being the one behind the camera. Looks like a wonderful trip to Utah. There is nothing quite like being with friends! In other news, I’ve nominated you for the Liebster Award because your blog is so lovely. Visit this post to find out what your instructions are: http://www.faintnotmom.com/blog/liebster-award

April 14, 2015 at 2:43 pmWe just started to try to live by that philosophy also and are doing more and collecting less. In fact, we’ve started pruning back by selling our ‘stuff’ on eBay!
