A Family Flashback

I missed Throwback Thursday, so I’m gonna Flash us back on a Friday!

Zoie and I recently spent the day with my Grandparents.
They live on a farm, up in the mountains above where we live.

While Zoie spent her time chasing peacocks and trying to catch the chickens,
my Grandma and I spent a couple hours looking through old photo albums.

I love looking through old photo albums and seeing my families history.

I actually learned some things about my great-great-grandma that I never knew; she and her family, as natives of Scotland, were essentially slaves to the English before her and my Great-Grandmother emigrated to America in 1906.
Fascinating…
Crazy… but fascinating.

Some of my favorite photos from this visit were of my mom. I haven’t seen many baby pictures of my mom or her brothers, so I snapped a couple pics with my phone so I could share them. Sorry for the poor quality, I’m going to try and get some good copies of these soon.

I’m pretty sure this is one of the dolls my mom kept. My mama would have been 3 in this picture, about the same age that Zoie is now. And Uncle would have been 2.

I can’t wait to get back up there for another visit and maybe look through
some more albums.

    This is so awesome! That picture from Summer 1960 is so cute. I love looking through old family photos, my sister is actually copying all of the ones my Grandma has onto discs so we can all have some!

      I wish there were more. I don’t have anything from my dad’s side of the family. I hopoe you find some.

    It’s so cool to see pictures of your family from decades long past! My mom’s side of the family is very well photographed–I’ve seen photos of my great-grandparents when they were quite young, but my dad’s side of the family never really took pictures…photos of my Dad really only start when he went off to college.

      That seems the same with our famy. We do t have anything from my dads side of the family.
